Panchatantra Story of the Frogs and the Black Snake – Must-Have Fun Tale

Once upon a time, in a peaceful village surrounded by lush green fields and tall trees, there was a big, beautiful pond. This wasn’t an ordinary pond—it was home to a lively group of frogs who loved to sing, leap, and play all day long. These frogs were the best of friends, always looking out for one another and sharing lots of fun stories as the sun set behind the hills.

Meet the Frogs and Their Happy Pond

In the middle of this pond lived a little frog named Raju. Raju was curious and brave, always hopping around and exploring every corner of the pond. His friends loved to listen to his exciting adventures and jokes. The pond was like their magical kingdom, filled with shimmering lilies, swaying reeds, and sparkling water that twinkled under the moonlight.

But one day, something very unusual happened. A shadow slid silently across the water’s surface. The frogs stopped their croaking and looked carefully. It was a black snake, slithering gently into their home. The frogs had heard stories about snakes before, but none had ever come to their pond.

The Arrival of the Black Snake

The black snake was long and smooth, with shiny scales as dark as night. He moved quietly, making almost no sound. The frogs were scared, but Raju wanted to find out more. So, he quietly hopped closer to the snake.

“Hello, Black Snake,” said Raju politely. “Why have you come to our pond?”

The snake flicked his forked tongue and answered in a soft, whispery voice, “I have come because the forest nearby is dry, and I need a place to rest and find some food. Your pond is so calm and beautiful.”

Raju thought for a moment. “But we are many frogs here, and we don’t want any harm to come to us or our home.”

The black snake smiled gently and said, “I promise not to hurt any of you. I only want a quiet place for a little while.”

How the Frogs Worked Together

Raju gathered all the frogs and spoke about the black snake’s visit. Some frogs were frightened, and others were curious like Raju. After they talked for a while, they decided to trust the snake but stay alert to keep the pond safe.

They agreed that each day, some frogs would watch carefully while others played and sang. The black snake would live by a shady rock at the pond’s edge, where he could rest comfortably without disturbing anyone.

Days passed, and the black snake kept his promise. He didn’t harm any frogs or their home, and the frogs found out that he was kind and gentle, though quiet and mysterious.

The Day Danger Came

One bright morning, while Raju was hopping near the lily pads, he noticed something strange in the tall grass—a big green snake, twisting and sliding toward the pond! This snake was bigger and very hungry. Raju knew immediately that this snake could hurt the frogs.

Faster than ever, Raju jumped to where the black snake rested. “Black Snake, there is danger coming! A big snake is coming to our pond!”

The black snake’s dark eyes narrowed. “I will help protect the pond and all my new friends.”

The Frogs and Black Snake’s Clever Plan

Raju and the black snake quickly told all the frogs to get to safety in a secret cave near the pond. Then, the black snake went to meet the big green snake.

“Why do you come here, hungry one?” hissed the black snake. “This pond is protected by my friends, and they are clever and strong.”

The big green snake laughed, “I’m here for a meal, and frogs are delicious!”

Just then, the frogs began making loud croaking noises from the bushes and reeds. The loud noise and the quick leaps of the frogs scared the big green snake, who wasn’t ready for such a surprise.

The black snake slithered after him and whispered, “Go away, or you will find no easy feast here.”

The big green snake, unsure and afraid of the powerful black snake and the brave frogs, slowly turned and left the pond behind.

How the Pond Returned to Peace

After the big green snake disappeared into the forest again, the frogs happily came out of their secret cave. They hopped and sang, thanking the black snake for protecting their home.

Raju smiled wide and said, “We learned that friends can come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes, even if someone looks different or scary, they can become a true friend if we give them a chance.”

From that day on, the frogs and the black snake lived peacefully together. The pond sparkled brighter, filled with laughter and croaks that echoed across the fields.

What Can We Learn from This Fun Tale?

This story teaches us a valuable lesson about friendship and trust. Sometimes, people or creatures who seem different or even a little scary can become our best friends if we are kind and open to understanding them. Working together and staying brave can solve many problems, just like the frogs and the black snake worked as a team to keep their home safe.

So, as you drift off to sleep tonight, remember Raju and the brave frogs who taught us that kindness, courage, and friendship can make even the scariest situations turn into wonderful adventures.

Goodnight, little one. May your dreams be full of magical ponds, friendly frogs, and gentle black snakes.
